Evaluations.

Question 1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My product uses conventions of real media products, because the research we did into music videos where done in so much depth we looked at other music videos with the same genres so we knew what we was to include like several story lines and actors, shots, editing techniques and so on, so we was able to put a pretty good music video together we did a very good plan on storyboards, and we stuck by them were as in AS we didn't quite stick to it so it didn't work as well as we had planned so we knew to stick to our plans this time. Also our digi-pack we used the layout of a real digi-pack made by artists and bands around the world, there is a few different types which you can do some contain 4 images some with 6 etc, we did the one with 6 so I used images which we took for our art work, so for my 6 images we went on to edit them to make them look authentic by adding certain layers, and text etc, i also added copyright signs, the record labels logo, and also the music production company, we had to make up a few songs which would be on the cd we had produced. We then also had to make a magazine cover/advertisement i made his by having knowledge of how these sorts of things are set out but i still researched well known magazines and also bands & Artists so i knew what things to include such as images, release dates, bonus tracks, reviews etc, etc.

For example these few screenshots below from the video of  Rita Ora - R.I.P I liked the idea of the quick pacd editing as you can see by the timing of which I screenshotted these, how quickly the shots changed.

I really liked how this shot was done in the video of Demi Lovato, showing the band I thought this would be a great idea to add in to our music video.
In the music video of Demi Lovato's - here we go again , its showing two different narratives i researched several music videos from the same genre and they all had a few narratives also the same with this Shakira music video below.

I also liked the shot during the Demi Lovato video which was a close up of a guitar, i really liked this idea and thought it would be a great shot to have all the instruments during are production in the video.

This is my 9 photo grid of our key elements during our music video which was given inspiration by other videos of the same genre.

Question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

The combination of all our products, so are main product which was the music video and our ancillary texts which were our digi-pack and our magazine cover/advertisement work effectively together because the main product needs the magazine advert to promote the video and digi-pack, which also the digi-pack wouldn't work as well without the music video because it includes things which relate to the music video and with out it people wouldn't understand what the meaning of the digi-pack would be.
The main product which was the music video itself below is the embedded video.

Our music video is similar to a few music videos which i researched not so much the narrative and things are just shots, angles and editing that we did, like the band shot we did which was similar to the one in the video of Demi lovato, which is shown in the screenshots below:

We also liked how thy did close u shots of the instruments in demi's video so w also took that idea and incorporated it into out video:

there is also a fast paced editing which we liked so we took this idea from the video of Rita Ora and Tinie Tempah. As you can see below how we did it with screenshots from both videos:

Does your video get across a key idea or emotion in a way that you wanted to? Yes id like to think it does its to give out the impression that these people aren't happy but once they hear the music they come alive and its as if they feed off of the music and it brings there inner self out.

You also need to think about how your other products combine and work with your video to promote the song as something that you want people to buy. How well have you managed to make your poster look like your digipack for example? Looking at my digi-pack and poster now there isnt so much in common except for the colour schemes i havent used the same images, and in the digi-pack & poster none of these images were in the music video. below are the digi-pack and magazine advert;

ave you used a feature or technique in one product that you've used in another that helps to make all of your products look 'similar', like they have an identity. What could you do better? The things that are similar in my digi-pack and my magazine cover is that i've done all the images in a black and white filter and added pops of colour. If i was to do it again i would chose different images and try and use screenshots or images which all linked together as a full piece.
How could you create a clear identity for your products by changing them? i could change the products by making them all correspond with each other by changing the images, changing the colour schemes like i said above
What sorts of things might you do differently when creating the 'whole package'? For starting again doing the whole package i would even change the video i would had different key shots, different filters, more quick paced editing and so on, same as the digi-pack i would make it look more professional, by adding images which linked to the music video and not just random images that i liked, in all fairness though the images that i used the reasons i used them is because i thought thy linked with some of the lyrics but not so much the video itself and the magazine cover i would change it all us a different layout, different images, font etc, because it looks like a student as done it as opposed to a professional product.

Question 3: What have you learned from your audience feedback?

I haven't learned much from my feedback because my questionnaires and surveys didn't receive any feedback but all that a side, i know i could of done a lot of things different making things more key, using different actors, we could of used drama students which were used to acting etc, they lip syncing ht was on point till it come to the last time of watching it and theres about a 2 second glitch wer its out of synk

Question 4: How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
